A Dream

Everything was a blur.

A girl walks through a forest, the trees seemed to bend and curve like what you see in Dr. Seuss. The limbs interweave like vines, and though not a lot of leaves, the forest felt dense. And the deeper you walk through the forest, you'll find hidden egg like houses tucked away. Houses made out of moss and stones and vines. But the thing is, from a distance they look as if they could fit in your palm of your hands, but take a few steps forward and they grow to be the size of a human nest.

As the little girl was wandering through the forest, she found something odd. It wasn't a nest nor was it a tree. She reaches a hand out to touch the vine like wall, but instead of hitting a solid surface, her hand continues going through. She was about to pull her arm out when she felt something grab her and pull her through. The little girl gets yanked through to find herself falling.

After what felt like a solid minute, she sees the bottom growing bigger and bigger. She closes her eyes as she embraces herself for the landing. But nothing comes. She opens her eyes to now find herself standing in front of a house. It wasn't white, but it wasn't of color, and it wasn't a dirty house, but it looked as if no one lived there for a very long time and nature took over.

The little girl approaches the house, curious as to where she was. When she knocks on the door, a tall old shaggy man opens the door. He face is half covered by his over grown mustache that covers his mouth, and his eye brow covering his eyes, giving off a Lorax caricature.

The old man peers down at the little girl and lets out a grunt. "What do you want?"

What did the little girl want? She was only just exploring where she was and how she got there.

"I'm sorry, sir," the little girl shies away, "I didn't mean to bother you-"

Though before she could finish her thought, the old man pulls her into the house. As soon as she enters through the doors, the scene changes once again.

Looking around, there's nothing but endless water. She looks down to see that she's standing at the bottom of a pool. As she looks around, she doesn't see anything but water, no walls, no corners, just water. She glances up to see the sky shimmering through the water.

"Now where am I?" She thinks to herself.

It occurred to her that she was breathing underwater - not so much breathing, but she wasn't suffocating. The little girl starts swimming towards a direction not really know where she's going.

There's a sudden muffled noise coming from behind her. It vibrated through the water pushing her forward a good inch. Taken by surprised, she stops and turns around only to be swallowed by darkness.

I suddenly jerk away siting up in my bed. I pant, feeling my chest heaving up and down. I feel beads of sweat dripping down my forehead. As I start to get some of my senses back in my fingers I can feel the fabric of my bed which is soaked.

I look around my room and as I peer out of the window I can see the full moon still up and lighting the night sky. I sigh in relief. It was only a dream.

As I glance back out of the window, in the corner of my eye, I thought I saw a figure on the edge of the forest disappear through a tree.
